Veena Kumar, Ph.D.

Welcome to PALS Online TEFL course. My name is Veena Kumar. I am your instructor and will be guiding you through this intensive, very hands-on course.

I have over 23 years experience of teaching English language, ESL and ESP at different academic levels in the UK, France, India and the USA. I am a great supporter of e-learning and have spent substantial amount of time and effort researching the medium. I have taught online courses for the University of Maryland and was nominated for Teacher Excellence Award (2004). In addition, I have been an educational consultant for major projects with the World Bank, The European Commission, The Commonwealth of Learning (Canada) and The British Council (UK)

I see myself as a true 'Citizen of the World' and find interacting with people from different cultures extremely educative and emotionally rewarding. This is something you can also look forward to after completing this course. One is constantly learning and discovering newer and richer aspects of human nature.
