How to Apply

Admission to the Program in American Language Studies (PALS) is open to all students who are seventeen years of age and have completed their high school education or its equivalent.

To apply, a student should complete our application form (2008-2009), financial guarantee form and enclose all required documentary evidence. All supporting financial documents must be originals or certified copies. It is possible to download all necessary forms from our website. A non-refundable deposit of $300 should accompany the application form. Checks or drafts should be made in the name of PALS, Rutgers University.

If you require an I-20 so that you can apply for a non-immigrant F1 visa to enter the United States, please click on the Visa Information section. In order to be able to arrive in time for the beginning of the semester, please be sure to submit completed forms and all required documents at least two months before the date of commencement of the session.

Your completed application must be sent by mail. Faxed or emailed applications will not be accepted. If you would like your I-20 sent via Express mail please include an additional $55. Once your completed application has been received by PALS, your I-20 will be processed and sent to you within 2 weeks.

Please note that separate applications are required for admission to degree programs at Rutgers or other universities.
