Turkish Ministiry of Interior Enrichment Project
PALS-Rutgers is proud to be working with ten officials of the Turkish government sponsored by the Ministry of Interior, Turkey. These officials will be at PALS for one complete academic year - May 2012 - April 2013. Seven of the officers are here with their families and three are on their own.
During their stay, the officials will participate in course work to enhance their English skills, participate in cultural events, as well as visit local government offices in New Jersey. Some of the scheduled visits are: New Brunswick City Counsel, Middlesex County Court, a meeting with Assemblyman Joseph V. Egan, participation in the Middlesex County Freeholder's meeting and a tour of the New Jersey State House.
The officials will also make a trip to the United Nations (UN) where they will learn about current initiatives that the UN and its affiliates such as UNESCO are currently involved in. In addition, a special briefing on peace efforts at the Turkish Permanent Mission is also arranged.
