What will my PATH look like?

Just as no two students are exactly alike, no two academic paths will be identical: some students may achieve benchmarks at a faster pace and some may require extra time. However, the majority of RU-Path students will follow a path similar to this one:



Summer Session

  • Intensive TOEFL Preparation (Grammar, Reading, Vocabulary, Listening, Test-Taking Strategies)
  • ALEKS web-based learning system/Mathematical Instruction
  • College Preparation Writing 
  • 1 Elective - Makerspace or Driver's Education
  • 0 Credits

Fall Semester

  • Advanced TOEFL Preparation
  • College Level Math Course (4 Credits)
  • International Student Transition Seminar I (1 Credit)
  • Byrne Seminar (1 Credit)
  • Critical Reading & Writing 
  • Academic Listening Development I
  • ALEKS and Math Support
  • 1 - 6 Credits

Spring Semester

  • College Level English Composition (4 or 9 Credits)
  • International Student Transition Seminar II (1 Credit)
  • Byrne Seminar  (1 Credit)
  • Communication Building for Undergraduate Studies 
  • Grammar for Academic Writing
  • Academic Listening Development II
  • 6 - 11 Credits
