Mark Keitges is the Director of the Program in American Language Studies (PALS) and teaching instructor in the Writing Program at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Previously, he instructed classes at the Graduate English Language Learners Program and the Engineers of the Future (EOF) Summer Institute. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include the philosophy of higher education, aesthetic and moral education, global learning in a comparative perspective, and ELL academic writing as a space of applied ethics. His work has been published in Philosophical Studies in Education, The Journal of School and Society, Philosophy of Education Yearbook, and E-Learning and Digital Media.

His adult ELL teaching and tutoring includes positions at the University of Illinois Writers Workshop, Middlesex County College, Hudson County Community College, the Arab American Family Support Center, and Seattle Goodwill Industries. He holds a M.A.in Digital Media Design for Learning from New York University, a M.Ed. in Adult Education and Training from Seattle University and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
